Family Sessions

Mini Sessions are ideal for squirmy toddlers and (let's be honest!) impatient family members who'd rather be somewhere else!  They are the perfect choice for updating those annual family photos, or getting your Christmas cards completed and in the mail!  Throughout the year Amber holds Special Events where she books multiple mini sessions back to back at different locations.  These special events are sometimes themed sessions (ie Christmas, or In-The-Box) or held at unique destinations (ie Mount Rainier or coastal beaches).  Full Sessions are more ideal for larger families, or those who want multiple locations, outfit changes, and more variety in their session.  In general a full session is the better fit for someone who wants a more slow-paced session.

Amber holds multiple Special Events throughout the year.  These are pre-selected dates where she has chosen a special location or rented a specific venue, and she has booked multiple families at this location for back-to-back mini sessions.  Pricing for Special Events is a little lower than booking an individual session, this lower pricing is due to the quantity of families that are seen on Special Event days.  Examples of Special Events that are typically held throughout the year are:  Mount Rainier Minis, Mother's Day Minis, Christmas Minis, Fall Minis, Sunflower Minis, Beach Minis, In-The Box Minis, Snow Minis, and more.  Special Events usually open for booking about 30-45 days prior to the event.  (The exception to this is Mount Rainier which open for booking 4+ months in advance so families have time to plan for the longer trip involved.)  When Special Events open for booking you are able to reserve a specific time slot for your family on that day.   If you would like to see any current Special Events that are being booked at this time, please visit Amber's payment page which is where all Special Events are listed for booking (there is also a button at the bottom of this page that takes you there.)  If you do not see any Special Events listed on that page at this time then there is not one that is currently booking.  You can check back later, or reach out to Amber if you'd like an idea of what the next Special Event will be and when/where.  All upcoming Special Events are announced in Amber's private VIP group on Facebook, as well as sent to everyone on her email list.  If you would like to be among the first to know about any upcoming Special Events (so you can book a spot before they sell out), then please add yourself to her email list and request to join her private VIP group on Facebook, then you'll always be in the loop!

We'll reschedule for a day that works for both of us.  There is no rescheduling fee when it's due to inclement weather. I always monitor the forecast closely and stay in good communication.

We will go into detail about wardrobe after your session is booked and the location has been chosen.  The time of year, location choice, as well as the dynamics of your family will all influence your wardrobe decisions.  And I'm here to help you figure it out!

Absolutely! Pets are family too. Just let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly, as certain locations do not allow animals.

I typically schedule outdoor sessions during the "golden hour", which is the 90 minutes before sunset, for the most beautiful, soft light. Morning sessions are also available.

Within a week after your session (sometimes sooner!) you'll receive an online proofing gallery where you can view the best images from your session and select your favorites that you'd like to purchase.  You're in control here!  The number of images you purchase is completely up to you - no pressure from me!  The proofs you'll be viewing will have been lightly-edited.  The images you select for purchase will go on to be fully-retouched to perfection before final delivery.  You are welcome to make any requests you might have regarding the final retouching!  You'll receive your final, fully-retouched images about 2-3 days after you've purchased them, and they'll be ready for download!  If you want to order any professionally-printed products you'll be given options at this time.  (This part is completely optional.)

Yes! Interest-free payment plans are available for all digital packages. We'll discuss options if you're interested.  Final images are delivered once your payment plan has been paid in full.
