Studio -vs- Outdoors
Studio
Choose between a variety of backdrops and enjoy complimentary access to my entire collection of maternity gowns, slips, shawls, bandeaus, lace and hats. You are also welcome to bring along your own attire or accessories in addition. From the romantic bedroom setup to the boho egg chair, the bright and airy faux window to the large selection of backdrop colors – we are sure to achieve a solid variety of looks from your studio maternity session. Enjoy the added benefit of not needing to worry about weather concerns or timing constraints to achieve that ideal lighting, as we will be in the comfort of a climate-controlled studio using professional studio lighting. Significant others and children may be included! Studio maternity sessions last up to an hour.

Outdoors
Typically scheduled during the golden hour to ensure ideal lighting. There are many beautiful locations to choose from around the Puget Sound. Whether you desire a rustic setting in the countryside, the ominous feeling of a cliffside, the cool urban vibes of the city, or that flowy beach aesthetic – there is something for everyone within easy driving distance of Olympia! We’ll work together to find the perfect spot that fits your vibe. You’ll receive complimentary access to 3 items from my client closet that I will transport to your session, plus you’re welcome to supply your own attire or accessories in addition. Locations within a 20-minute drive of Olympia are included, there may be a small travel fee for further locations. Outdoor maternity sessions last up to an hour.

Deluxe
Don’t want to choose between the studio or outdoors? No problem! Why limit the potential of your session when we can do both? Schedule a “Deluxe Session” which includes outdoor images as well as time in the studio. This type of session will take around 2 hours to complete. The outdoor portion should be within a 15-minute drive of Amber’s Olympia studio, so as to maximize our time at each location. If you desire a further location for the outdoor portion of your session then it may be subject to a small travel fee. Certain destination locations may need to take place on a separate day than the studio portion. In such a case there would be an additional $50 fee for splitting the session between two days. Everything will be discussed as we plan, no surprises!

When to book your maternity photoshoot?
I recommend that you contact me early on, ideally toward the end of your first trimester, and that we schedule your session for the timeframe that you will be between 30-33 weeks along. I want you to have some time to enjoy these images before baby arrives, so we don’t want to encroach too close to your due date!
Not to mention, as you get further along in your pregnancy sometimes things get a little more uncomfortable! So we like to get the session done before it reaches that point, whenever possible!
If you’re already past that 30-33 week window, don’t worry! Contact me anyway and I will do my best to accommodate you before baby arrives!

Reach out early on
Send a quick message toward the end of your 1st trimester and Amber will share if she has availability during the window that you will be 30-33 weeks pregnant.
Secure your spot
Determine whether you want In-Studio, Outdoors, or Both (deluxe). Place the Initial Booking Fee of $150 (or $200 for deluxe) which secures your session on my schedule.
Select your images
After your session you’ll view your proofs and select your favorites that you’d like to purchase. There are many Digital Packages to choose from, designed to fit different budgets and desires.
Maternity Digital Packages start at $285 and increase based on how many you’d love to take home.
Payment plans are available on request.
FAQ's
There are SO many places to choose from! This is where your desires come into play. We will discuss any locations that are special to you, or the type of look and feel you're hoping for. That will help shape the location we select. Locations within a 20-minute drive of the Olympia area are included in my rates. There may be a small travel fee for further locations, but we will discuss this ahead of time so there are no surprises!
Typically Maternity Sessions last 45 minutes up to 1 hour, if we are doing either in-studio OR outdoors. For the Deluxe session where we are shooting BOTH outdoors and in-studio, that type of session may last up to 2 hours.
I have a complimentary client wardrobe that my maternity clients are welcome to use. A link will be sent so you can visualize what is available. For studio sessions you will have full access to the entire wardrobe of dresses, shawls, lace, bandeaus and hats. For outdoor sessions you may select up to 3 items that I will bring along to your session. You are also welcome to provide your own wardrobe or accessories, either in combination with mine or entirely your own. While dresses are highly recommended, ultimately it's most important that you feel comfortable in what you're wearing. We will go into more detail regarding wardrobe after you've booked your session and we begin the planning process!
Absolutely, in fact it's encouraged! Please feel free to bring your significant other, as well as any children you may already have. We will discuss how to best incorporate them into parts of your session.
Amber’s studio is located right off Martin Way in Olympia, with easy access from I-5.
