About Me Personally:
Born and raised in Olympia, I have been a professional photographer for over 14 years now. I also spent 11 years as a dental hygienist! I loved that job, but once my photography business started to take off I left the dental world entirely. This allowed me the freedom to stay home with my children while setting my own work schedule as a business owner. That was important as I am a single mom of 3, and I homeschool 2 of them (the third just graduated!). Yes, it’s a lot of work running a full-time business and homeschooling two kids, but I love the flexibility it allows and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way!
About Me Professionally:
With over 14 years of experience, a fully-stocked professional studio, a complimentary client closet, and the patience of a saint (or so I’ve been told haha!) – I aim to offer something unique for my clients that they cannot get with every other photographer in my area. This also includes my advanced level of retouching. A great deal of attention is paid to small details, the kinds of details that many other photographers do not focus on. I aim to flatter my clients in such a way that they only focus on the love, the connections, and the special moments – rather than focusing on anything that could be considered an imperfection. I perfect skin, hair, clothing, remove all distracting items, and really aim to reach a level of perfection with each of my images, while at the same time not making my images appear too heavily “photoshopped”. Doing so takes skill, and it takes time. I do this all of this by hand, I do not utilize AI, nor will I ever. Now please know that this is not me saying that I am better than other photographers, but I am different. Clients who appreciate this extra attention to detail and extensive hand-retouching, they understand and are willing to pay for the extra time that it takes, in order to be done well. That is one of the main reasons why you might notice that my pricing is a little higher than some of the other local photographers you might have come across. It is due to the extra care that is given to every single image you take home. I have had many clients who have returned to me after trying cheaper photographers because they noticed the difference in the final images that they received, and they were willing to pay more for what they consider to be a more “polished” final look. And that is important to me! Because while the number one goal with my images is that they have emotion and tell a story, I also aim to have images that have a noticeable polished look to them, the kind of polished look that clients value and appreciate.
